How the application process works
Once we receive your application (and fee if applicable), we will:- send you an acknowledgement
- process your application and inform you of our decision regarding your eligibility
- refer your application to our Special Admissions Panel if you don’t automatically satisfy the entrance requirements (note: for undergraduate courses only), and inform you of their decision
- send you an ‘Offer letter’ and registration pack if your application is approved, or advise you on what further qualifications you need in order to become eligible
- at the ‘Offer letter’ stage, we will also consider any requests for exemption.
Apply By Post
- Obtain the application form
Application forms are contained within the relevant prospectus or can be downloaded from the relevant course page on this website.
- Complete the form fully and enclose:
- The application handling fee (for undergraduate degrees, Diplomas in
the Humanities and Diplomas for Graduates only). Please note that this fee is
non-refundable. - Documentary evidence

- Return the application pack to us as soon as possible, but definitely before the application deadline printed on the application form. Please send it by post (not by fax) to our Admissions team in London, at the address given on the application form.
If you are applying for one of the Diplomas in Computing and Information Systems, Creative Computing, Economics or Law there are separate application procedures in place.
Am I qualified
All of the courses we offer have their own set of entrance requirements. Full details can be found on the relevant course page, under ‘Entrance requirements’.Undergraduate
You may need to meet criteria in any of the following:- Academic qualifications. Our entrance requirements are based on UK GCSE/GCE O levels and A levels. We also accept many other qualifications both from the UK and the rest of the world (please see Acceptable qualifications [PDF: 9pgs, 160KB] – qualifications not on this list can be considered by our Special Admissions Panel).
- English language: we may require you to have passed a recognised test of proficiency, at the appropriate level, within the last three years - Proficiency in English [PDF: 1pg, 112KB]
- Other e.g. computer/internet access.
Postgraduate
You will need to meet criteria in the following:- Academic qualifications (usually a second class honours degree).
- English language: a recognised test of proficiency, at the appropriate level (please see relevant course page).
- Other e.g. computer/internet access.
- Work experience and references.
Apply Online
It’s now possible to apply online for a number of our postgraduate and undergraduate courses. You don’t need to complete the online application process in one go. You can exit and come back to it at any time. You’ll also be able to return to any of the questions you’ve answered – either to amend or add to the information you’ve given – before you submit the application. Please read the notes explaining how to apply online carefully before you start.Applying online is a two-stage process:
- Complete the online form and submit it to us, and for undergraduate courses choose to pay the application fee online.
- Post your supporting documents to us using the document enclosure form. For undergraduate courses if you haven't paid the application fee online please submit this at the same time.
Students in Hong Kong and Singapore should be aware that special provisions are in place. If you choose to apply online you may not be able to take advantage of these special arrangements.
